🌾 Meet the Ranch
Where Hard Work, Good Food, and a Little Bit of Chaos Come Together
Dark Water Ranch began as a simple idea: grow good food, take care of the land, and build a place where people feel welcome the moment they arrive. Over the years, that idea has grown into a lively, working family farm tucked into the quiet backroads of Ninnekah, Oklahoma — complete with vegetables, melons, sunflowers, dogs underfoot, and the occasional goat with opinions.
We’ve been stewarding this land for more than a decade, learning its rhythms, improving its soil, and building a farm that reflects both tradition and creativity. Every season brings something new, and we love sharing that journey with our community.
🌱 What We Grow
We focus on fresh, seasonal produce grown with care and without chemical pesticides. From early‑spring greens to summer melons and fall favorites, everything we harvest is picked at peak ripeness and handled by hand.
You’ll find our produce:
-
At the Chisholm Trail Farmers Market
-
In our Fresh Pickins Baskets (like a CSA, but without the upfront cost)
-
At our on‑farm stand, open Wednesday–Saturday4-8pm during the summer
We grow food the way it’s meant to be grown — with patience, intention, and a whole lot of sweat equity.
🌻 A Place to Slow Down
One of our favorite parts of the year is the Sunflower Walk & U‑Pick. When the fields bloom, the whole farm transforms. Families wander through golden rows, kids run ahead to find the tallest flower, and everyone leaves with a little more sunshine than they came with.
There’s no admission fee — just come enjoy the view, take photos, and only pay for what you and pick what you love.
🐐 The Crew Behind the Scenes
-
Phillip, the grower, maker, and planner behind it all
- Regina the story teller, jelly and goat milk soap maker.
- Grandma is the artist and the one who keeps the chaos to a minimum.
-
A handful of dogs who believe they are essential staff
-
A few goats and sheep who believe the farm belongs to them
-
Two miniature horses who specialize in looking adorable, supervising from a distance, and reminding everyone that size has nothing to do with authority
-
One miniature donkey, the unofficial greeter, comedian, and morale officer — always ready with a bray and a head tilt
-
And the community who shows up, supports us, and keeps this place thriving
Every tomato, melon, sunflower, and dog treat has a story behind it — and usually a muddy bootprint or two.
❤️ Why We Do This
Farming is equal parts grit and joy. It’s early mornings, long days, and the satisfaction of watching something grow from seed to harvest. It’s feeding families, welcoming visitors, and creating a place where people can reconnect with the land and with each other.
Dark Water Ranch is more than a farm. It’s a home, a gathering place, and a little pocket of Oklahoma where life slows down and good food brings people together.
